AI Voice Support: WhatsApp, Webchat and Telephony in One Operation

Zapify brings the same Artificial Intelligence that already powers text support to phone calls — on WhatsApp, in your site's webchat, and on your company's telephony via VoIP/SIP. See how it works in practice.

AI voice support at Zapify — WhatsApp, webchat and telephony

For a long time, voice support meant one simple thing: a customer calls, someone picks up. Artificial Intelligence is changing that model. Today, a call can start with AI, be understood in natural language, resolve questions, look up information, and, when needed, hand over to a person.

At Zapify, that voice experience happens through three entry points — calls on WhatsApp, voice directly in the webchat on your site, and telephony via VoIP/SIP — always following the same Human-in-the-Loop logic already applied to the other channels.

What AI voice support is

Instead of a traditional recording saying “press 1 for sales, 2 for support, 3 for billing”, the customer can simply say what they need: “I’d like to know when my order is arriving”, or “I need to book an appointment this week”. The AI interprets the intent and continues the conversation, bringing automated support closer to a real conversation.

Three ways to use AI voice

Voice on WhatsApp. A company can receive calls through WhatsApp and let AI handle the first line of support — identifying the customer, checking the available information and replying during the call itself. If the situation calls for a person, the call is transferred to an operator, with the full context.

Voice inside webchat. A site visitor can also talk instead of typing — useful when the question is more complex, when they’re on a mobile device, or simply when speaking feels more natural. The AI listens, replies and guides the interaction right on the site.

Telephony via VoIP/SIP. The third option is to bring the same logic to the company’s phone line. The customer still calls the number they already know; on the company’s side, the call can first be picked up by AI, which talks, identifies the reason for the call and tries to resolve the need before, if necessary, routing it to a person.

It isn’t a traditional IVR

In a classic phone-tree system, it’s the customer who adapts to the company’s structure — “press 1 for sales, press 2 for support”. With conversational AI, the principle is reversed: the customer explains what they want (“I got my invoice but the amount looks wrong”, “I want to change my appointment on Thursday”), and the conversation starts right from what the person actually needs.

A single prompt defines how the AI works

Just like with text assistants, the company defines in the assistant’s instructions how the AI should behave on the phone: how to greet callers, what questions to ask, what information to look up, when to suggest a service, when to ask for additional details, and when to hand over to a person. A clinic can configure the AI to first identify the specialty needed and only involve the front desk when it can’t complete the booking; a store can configure the AI to help choose a product and only transfer to a salesperson for a specific negotiation. The same technology adapts to each operation, instead of forcing every call down the same rigid tree.

Human-in-the-Loop applied to voice

The principle is the same one we’ve already explained for text assistants: the AI handles what it can resolve — opening hours, availability, order status, bookings, recurring questions — and the operator steps in when the situation calls for negotiation, a specific decision, or simply when the customer asks to speak with a person. And they step in already caught up on everything that’s been said, without the customer having to repeat anything.

This can also help the team handle spikes in call volume without needing to grow headcount in the same proportion, and it lets a first interaction happen even outside service hours — without promising specific savings figures, which always depend on each company’s operation.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to change my phone number to use AI voice? Not necessarily. Telephony via VoIP/SIP integrates your existing call infrastructure with Zapify’s operation — the customer keeps calling and talking the way they already do.

Does AI voice replace operators? No. It changes their role: the AI handles the repetitive work, and the person steps in for situations that call for negotiation, a decision, or human empathy.

What if the customer wants to talk to a person? The conversation can be transferred at any time — because the customer asked, because the AI identified a complex situation, or because an internal rule determines the transfer.

Is it the same AI that already handles WhatsApp and webchat support in text? Yes — the same Human-in-the-Loop logic and the same Conversational Marketing engine from Zapify, now also by voice.
